Prize Giving System
Prizes for The UK Championships Golf League are awarded under the system that operates within most recognised golf clubs across the UK and Ireland.
Many clubs hold regular Stableford and Medal events whereby members pay to enter and part of their entry fee funds the prizes.
The system works so well because the reward for winning is always proportional to the difficulty in winning i.e. the more people that enter in any given event, the harder it is to win - but the greater the reward will be for winning.
R&A Rules of Amateur Status
The UK Championships Golf League tournaments are designed to comply with all of the rules of amateur golf as set out by the R&A (Royal & Ancient golf club of St Andews) – the governing body for Golf in the UK. Under the R&A Rules of Amateur Status, rule 3-1 states that “an amateur golfer must not play for prize money”.
With this in mind most golf club competitions award prizes in the form of vouchers which can be spent in the club pro shop.
UK Championships Pro Shop

What are the benefits of our prize system?
| Players never incur travel and accommodation expenses to attend regional finals. | |
| Players choose prizes that they want and that fit their individual requirements. | |
| Players who choose traditional prizes such as green fees and golf breaks have complete flexibility to choose when and where to go – Our players are never restricted by our calendar. | |
| The reward is always proportional to the difficulty in winning i.e. the more people that enter in a county, the harder it is to win but the greater the reward will be for winning (and vice versa). |
