Prize FUND

How much is in the Prize Fund?

For every player entering the tournament, 100 'Pro Shop Points' are added to the Prize Fund. The approximate retail value of 100 'Pro Shop Points' is £10.

So for example, if 2,000 players enter the Men's Singles Tournament, 200,000 'Pro Shop Points' would be added to the Prize Fund, so the approximate value of the Prize Fund would be £20,000.

How is the prize fund shared?

For every player entering the tournament, the 100 points that are added to the Prize Fund will be distributed through the leagues in the following proportions:

League % Prize Fund distribution
County Union Leagues

40% (40 points)

National League 20% (20 points)
1st Match League 10% (10 points)
2nd Match League

10% (10 points)

3rd Match League 10% (10 points)
4th Match League 10% (10 points)

Using our example of 2,000 entrants in the Men’s Singles Tournament, the prize funds for each of the 6 leagues within the tournament would be:

League Credits Per League
County Union Leagues 40% of 200,000 points = 8000 points*
National League 20% of 200,000 points= 4000 points
1st Match League 10% of 200,000 points= 2000 points
2nd Match League 10% of 200,000 points= 2000 points
3rd Match League 10% of 200,000 points= 2000 points
4th Match League 10% of 200,000 points= 2000 points

*County Union League Prize Funds

The number of points in each individual County Union League will be determined by the number of players entering within the individual County rather than the number of players in the entire tournament.

For every player within an individual county, 40 points will be added to the County Union Prize Fund for that County. For example, in a County League with 100 entrants, the prize fund would be 4000 points (approx £400) to be awarded to one winner.

NB Under the R&A Rules of Amateur Status, the maximum retail value of a prize that can be awarded to an individual in any one event is £500. Therefore no prize will be greater than 500 vouchers (or 1000 vouchers per pair).
